Nigeria Police Academy (NPA) Application Procedure

1. Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 18 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 5 foot 6 inches (1.68 metres) for males and 5 foot 4 inches (1.63 metres) for females. In addition, male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 36 inches (91 cm)
2. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of six credits in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or the National Examinations Council (NECO) in no more than two (2) sittings and includes a credit in both English and Mathematics including subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen field of study PROVIDED that no result was obtained earlier than 2007 will be accepted.
3. The pin can be purchased at any Zenith Bank branch nationwide at the cost of N3000 excluding bank charge of N500

PSC PROMOTED SENOIR POLICE OFFICERS

The Commission in its 35th plenary promoted 110 officers including AIG, 13 Commissioners and 22 Deputy Commissioners. 

All the promotions are with effect from, except for the Assistant Inspector-General which is with effect from July 31, 2013. Also two of the Commissioners are in Acting Capacity.

A total of 9 Chief Superintendents were promoted to Assistant Commissioners, 10 Superintendents to Chief Superintendents, 16 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendents, 52 Assistant Superintendents to Deputy Superintendents and 7 Inspectors to Assistant Superintendents. The Commission also considered various Pending Disciplinary Cases against some serving superior officers and awarded penalties or exculpation where necessary. Approval was also given for the dismissal of 1 Assistant Commissioner, 1 Chief Superintendent, 1 Superintendent, 1 Deputy Superintendent and an Assistant Superintendent for acts unexpected of senior officers.
